hmmm….I personally don’t mind cheating as a plot-device but I do understand people having reservations, especially when it’s between a same-sex couple (reenforcing the “promiscuous-and-unfaithful”-trope).
that being said, I do agree very much on the lazy part. if you want it to be a romantic story your writing has to be really good in order to not ruin the story.
with twm:tnc i stopped watching pretty early on (not because of the cheating plot but the writing in general) so i don’t know how exactly the storyline played out but from what i’ve heard it belongs to the bad examples. not only contradicts it Korn’s character (in the first season we learn that he got cheated on) but I can’t root for a happy ending in a romantic-comedy when one of the partners cheated.
i don’t have that emotional attachment to Friend Zone as i do with TGM so i might be more lenient on this show.
a big difference to me is that all male characters (except maybe Good and Earth) are catastrophes either happening or about to happen so the whole storyline is heading towards a train wreck from the get-go.
i live for that kind of messy and can’t wait for everyone to get hurt.
so far they got the important things down: we know the motivation of each character and their emotions and for some terrible reason you can’t really hate Stud (who is the catalyst for the cheating) cause they’ve written him charmingly.
i don’t wish Earth the agony of getting cheated on, but while a scream “no-no-no-no-no” at Sam i can’t wait for him to cross the line because that’s where they put the focus of the story in my opinion.
for kornknock it’s all about “will they work through this?!” which doesn’t make the cheating plotline entertaining at all. so far with friendzone i’m very entertained and can’t wait for everyone to escalate.
that being said, if they have Earth ending up with Sam after he cheats i will take this back. so far it’s well-written and fun to watch but Earth is too precious to give him a bad end (maybe we’ll get a plot-twist of some sorts but idk).
Ok so, since Tumblr is being an over protective Christian mother int he worse possible ‘Carrie’ sort of way, I’m going to ask that ya’ll reblog and spread the word about your favorite writers and artists again. Likes are nice, but reblogging is way better. And with the way things are and tags and searches being literally nonexistence, we need you so much! I know activity has gone way, way down for me and other writers and artists, and now, it’s gotten so much worse. Tumblr has literally fucked up being able to search for anything at all. Your reblogs mater and are so important. If you want to keep seeing content from us, please, for the love of god, reblog. I hate asking this, but it means the world to me to be able to keep creating here. If Tumblr keeps fucking up then a lot of your fvaorite artists and writers may move elsewhere. Hopefully Tumblr will get everyone back to working order soon, but for now, YOU are the most important thing to us creators.
I will TOTALLY TALK ABOUT LTNS and how I LOVE their portrayal of making out and stumbling over yourself with a lover.
It feels real, it feels like an accurate portrayal of what actually happens between lovers that are SO EXCITED to actually have contact with each other. And who knows just how experienced Chi Soo or Gi Tae are? But they lost all that in the heat of the moment and I love it.
I am here for these beautiful sweet murder babies fumbling over each other and I will always love this scene!
My boss called me “Tyrone” on accident (My name is Tyrand). She apologized and bought me lunch to make up for it. I didn’t think twice about it, since I’m used to getting called every variant of “Ty-(fill in blank here)”. Then later on I read a quote she keeps in her work area that made me feel kinda special.

you know what’s wild is that all these crazy standards we hold ourselves to are things that we don’t even value in another person? like i’ve never been like “wow I love that this friend of mine is too proud to ask for help and never complains about their feelings” or “my favorite quality about this friend is that they get straight A’s and never get overwhelmed and has never told me about a problem” or “i love that this friend has never been wrong about anything or slipped up and said something embarrassing once in their life” and yet here we are, pushing ourselves past our limits for and beating ourselves up over slipups of things that our friends probably wouldn’t even rank in the top 50 reasons they like us

Zhan Yao glances at him. “Are you here to tell me off about coming out without any warning to the agency?”
It’s the radio silence that drives Can crazy the most.
No messages sent at whatever time of the day. No ridiculous yet cute selfies with even more sickeningly sweet captions. No abrupt yet beloved calls. Nothing. Imagine being surrounded by them every single day for 2 consecutive months and then whoosh, nada.
And it’s not like Can can blame anyone but himself. The one who said ‘no’ is him. The one who rejected the proposal and got left behind in the parking lot is him. The one who watched the car drove away is him. The one who found a secluded corner by the IC’s Science Lab to cry is him.
Also imagine this. Pete coming to soccer practices and Can unconsciously glancing over at the space behind him every single time, void of something (someone), hope soaring one second and falling the next. Imagine Can typing out the beginning of a message before bedtime just to backspace and delete because it dawns on him of how unwanted the action is. It’s the small little things that hurts him, kills him a little bit every single day.
Imagine Can slowly realising just how much Tin has occupied every breathing space of his life in such a short amount of time and having to unlearn the habits he has picked up when his life has Tin.
