It’s (Birthday) Tradition

weilongfu:

Pairing: TinCan
Based off my head canon about how Tin and Can celebrate their birthdays. Could sort of fit into Love is a disaster series, but I’m not sure I want it there yet.

Also I wrote this because in approx. 3.5 hrs, it will be my birthday so I wanted Tin and Can to celebrate their birthdays with me.

Summary:
Everyone has their favorite ways of spending or celebrating their birthday. Tin and Can have special ways they celebrate for themselves and each other.

( for my absolute fav @m34ns . sorry this took so long , nico ! i hope you like it :”) )

+++++

Tin
wasn’t in a good mood. Some would claim that Tin is never in a good
mood, which – if true – meant that Tin was in a very bad mood
today. And a cause of such mood was – of course – Tin’s
brother. He didn’t do anything particularly out of the ordinary –
he was an asshole every day of the year. Tin was more or less used to
it by now, but lately he was way too frustrated with Can to keep his
mouth shut and hold himself back in any situation.

So,
Tin had nothing else to do, but to storm off out of the house and go
for a walk. Which was supposed to be relaxing, and it was – until
he saw a dog almost being run over by a car. And, what lots of people
don’t know about Tin is that he is a dog person. And not just a
casual dog person – no. He is one of those “I want to own seven
dogs and I would rather die than not pet a dog when I see it”
types. So, a dog being (almost) run over was 110% the biggest crime
Tin could ever think of.

‘What
the fuck are you doing, you asshole?’, Tin screamed after the
disappearing car, running up to the dog, ‘Hey buddy, are you ok?’

And,
at first it seemed like the dog was alright. To be fair, though, it
was so fluffy it was pretty hard to even distinguish which part of
its body was which, let alone if it had any wounds. When Tin took the
dog’s leash to get it off the road and to the sidewalk, though –
it obliged, but was obviously limping.

‘Awwww,
buddy! One of your legs hurts, huh?’, Tin said, petting the dog on
its fluffy head.

‘Gucci!’,
he heard someone scream, but decided to keep his attention on the
dog, ‘I finally found you! Thank you so much!’

Tin realized that it was probably the dog’s owner running up to them –
every dog has an owner after all, or at least Tin hoped so. He was
about to respond, when he looked up and saw – you guessed it –
Can.

‘Damnit’,
Tin thought, ‘Is this guy everywhere?’

‘You?’,
was the only thing Can could mutter, looking very confused.

‘Your
dog was almost run over by a car’, Tin said, deciding to ignore the
obvious awkwardness of the situation, ‘It’s limping now, so I
guess something is wrong with one of the legs. I know a good vet
clinic nearby, and my car is close enough too, so it wouldn’t have
to walk all the way there’.

‘It’s
a he, his name is Gucci’, Can said, ‘And, thank you?’

‘Gucci?’,
Tin laughed, ‘And you call me pretentious’.

+++++

The
entirety of the car ride was spent in silence – only the radio
playing something soft on the background. Both of the boys were
deeply confused by the whole situation. Tin, because he’s just
saved Can’s dog and is now taking him to the very expensive vet
clinic his family used to take their dog to. Can, because Tin has
just saved his dog and is now taking them to a most likely expensive
vet clinic he somehow knows about. So, they were basically confused
because of the same reason – not understanding Tin’s decision to
help Can at all.

When
they entered the clinic, Tin went straight to one of the doctors.

‘Nong’Tin!’,
the doctor exclaimed, ‘Haven’t seen you in a while! Got yourself
a new pet?’

‘Something
like that, P’’, Tin smirked, pointing at Can and Gucci, ‘This
is Ai’Can and his dog Gucci. Gucci was almost run over by some
asshole, who doesn’t know how to drive, and there’s something wrong
with his leg’.

‘What
a good boy’, the doctor smiled, petting Gucci, ‘Well, let’s
go’, he said, addressing Can, ‘Since you’re Nong’Tin’s friend,
I’ll allow both of you in for the check up. But then you’ll have
to wait outside’.

‘Thank
you’, Can said, smiling at the doctor, and then shooting an even
brighter smile at Tin. Maybe he’s not as much of an asshole as he
thought.

+++++

After
the checkup, Tin and Can were escorted out of the examining room.

‘Let’s
go out. There is a cafe here, we always used to wait there with my
parents, when we took our dog here’, Tin offered.

‘Sure’,
Can nodded.

When
they got to the cafe and sat down at the table, the atmosphere got a
bit awkward. Neither of them were quite sure what to do or say. Just
a couple of days ago, Tin tried to kiss Can out of spite again, and
Can punched him in the face. Again. They screamed at each other, and
literally hated each other just yesterday. Doing that today wasn’t
an option, though, so they had to figure out how to tip toe around
each other without everything blowing up again.

‘So,
you’re pretty close to that doctor from the clinic, huh?’, Can
finally broke the silence.

‘Incredible
deduction, Sherlock!’, Tin responded sarcastically.

‘Ok,
then’, Can sighed, ‘How about your dog? You used to have a dog,
right?’

‘And
what if I did? This has nothing to do with you!’, Tin frowned.

‘No
need to be an asshole’, Can responded sheepishly.

‘I
am being an asshole?’, Tin asked, ‘You punched me in the face on
Monday!’

‘You
tried to kiss me! You are trying to break my friend apart with his
boyfriend! And you think I’m the asshole? Really?’

‘This
is none of your fucking business’, Tin said, ‘But just for your
information, I’m helping Pete. Your friend is obviously using him for
money, just like everyone else. I’m not dumb enough to think that
someone like you could start dating someone like me for anything
other than money. I’m not dumb enough to trust someone like you’.

‘You
know what?’ You’re so fucking entitled! You pretend like you’re
better than me, because of what? Because you’re rich? Those aren’t
even your money! You haven’t worked a day in your life! You were so
nice today, especially to Gucci. I thought maybe I was too quick to
judge, maybe you’re actually a good person’, Can said, sounding
suddenly hurt and standing up to leave the cafe, ‘I guess I was
wrong’.

Can ran out of the cafe. Tin ran after him.

+++++

Can
almost reached the vet clinic, when someone grabbed his hand. Obviously, it was Tin.

‘I’m
sorry! I’m sorry for what I said. I just don’t know how to talk to
you. I don’t know what to think of you and what you think of me. And
I don’t trust anyone, ok? Not only you, because of whatever stupid
reason. I don’t trust anyone’, Tin said, ‘But I want to trust
you’.

‘But
you’re just a snob!’, Can wasn’t sure why he said that. Despite
what happened in the cafe, if there was one thing he realized today,
it was that Tin was not just some snob from the IC – he was much
more than that. He seemed rude, angry and aggressive, he seemed like
a bully, someone, who loves ruining other people’s lives, and he
still was some of those things – at least to some extent. But he
could also be polite, nice, kind and helpful, he cares about others,
loves dogs a lot, and – to be honest – has a pretty nice smile
that Can saw a couple of times today, mostly addressed to Gucci, though he totally understood why – his dog was adorable. He now wished he
could see more of that smile. Except he couldn’t. He ruined
everything with one stupid sentence, because he was too proud to face
the truth, to face his real feelings.

Tin
opened his mouth, trying to say something, but he couldn’t. He felt
tears coming up to his eyes, and there was something in his throat
that made it hard to breathe. Maybe Can was right, maybe he was just
a snob.

Can
was about to apologize and say he didn’t mean it, because he really
did not, and now Tin was almost crying, which was something –
unlike Tin’s smile – Can wouldn’t ever like to see again. But, he was
interrupted by a voice coming from somewhere behind him.

‘What’s
this?’, someone said, definitely addressing them, ‘You again?’

A
man came up to Tin and Can, not just a man – Tin’s brother. He
didn’t have to come closer for Tin to realize who it was, though –
he knew that voice way too well. Can knew who he was too, since he did
some research on Tin’s family after he told him his surname. It
was just a bit of fun and they seemed friendly on the pictures –
for a rich family anyway. Right now though, Tin’s brother didn’t
look friendly at all.

‘You
look like you’re about to cry. Pathetic little rat, aren’t you?’,
Tin’s brother sneered at him, grabbing his chin in his hand, making Tin look him in the eyes, ‘You are a disgrace to this family,
you know? That’s why dad hates you so much. We all wish you’d die
already, and yet you’re still here. Like an especially noisy
parasite we’re trying to get rid of so hard, and still can’t’.

Can
looked at Tin, expecting him to throw back a rude snarky comment that
his brother definitely deserved, but it never came. Tin stepped away from his brother, whose hand was no loner on his chin, and then just stood there,
eyes opened, on the verge of tears – both from what Can told him a
moment ago, and what his brother told him just now.

‘Come
on Can’, Tin looked at him desperately, ‘Let’s just go’.

Tin
already turned around, and was about to leave, when Can grabbed his
hand, ‘Wait!’, he said, pointing his eyebrows in the direction of
Tin’s brother. Tin stayed silent.

‘Seriously?
The only time you say nothing is when someone actually offends you?
He has no right to talk to you like that!’, Can exclaimed
furiously, turning around to face Tin’s brother, ‘You have no
right to talk to him like that!’

‘Excuse
me?’, Tin’s brother raised his eyebrow, ‘Who the hell are you
again?’

‘I’m…’,
Can wasn’t sure how to respond to that – he was kind of a nobody,
Tin’s rival, if anything, ‘I’m someone who hates when assholes
like you treat the people I care about like shit!’.

Tin’s
brother smirked, preparing to say something back, but Can was having
none of it, ‘No, you don’t deserve to say anything to me, or your
brother. You don’t deserve him , you know? And he doesn’t deserve
a dickhead like you bringing him down every day!’, Can grabbed
Tin’s hand, ‘Now we can go’, Tin obliged, still trying to process
what has just happened.

They
were walking in silence, Can still dragging Tin away holding his
hand, until they reached Tin’s car. When they did, Can let go, and
Tin suddenly felt weird. His hand felt colder, but he also felt
lonely. Not the kind of lonely he usually felt, not the kind of
lonely he considered necessary to survive – no, it was different.
It was the kind of lonely that made him want to crawl up the wall,
cry and – most importantly – grab Can’s hand again and never
let go.

Can
seemed to have a better idea though, because before Tin could think
what he should do next, Can hugged him.

‘I’m
sorry. For everything. For what I’ve said and done before, and for
what I’ve said today – I really didn’t mean that. And I’m
sorry for punching you in the face too’, Can said, wrapping his
hands tighter around Tin’s waist. Tin froze up. He was expecting
anything – Can leaving, Can being nosy again and starting to ask
him questions, can telling him this doesn’t change anything that
has happened between them – anything, but not this.

‘Hug
me back, you asshole!’, Can laughed endearingly, and Tin obliged.
He hugged him right back, melting into the unfamiliar comfortableness
of the embrace.

‘I
might’ve deserved at least one of those punches’, Tin said, and
they both laughed.

‘When
you want to kiss me again next time – you can just ask’, Can said
quietly.

‘Who
said there will be a next time?’, Tin smirked.

‘We
both know there will’, Can whispered.

‘Can
that next time be now, then?’, Tin asked, slightly pulling away to look  Can in the eyes.

‘No’,
Can said, putting his hand on Tin’s lips, ‘Now you’ll have to work
for it’.

‘Gladly’,
Tin smiled, still gently holding Can in his arms.

They
both felt weird about the sudden serenity of the situation , but only in
the best possible way.

LBC TinCan Fanfiction

@andwebegin

– Thank you again so much for the gif-set, it was so nice of you. This TinCan ficlet is for you ❤

It took me longer to come to you

Can always knew when Tin had met his brother during the day. Tul was the kind of asshole who didn’t announce himself. He just dropped by, spread his poison on everyone and sauntered off.

On those days it took Tin longer to come home.

Can didn’t really know why, because Tin always said that their flat was his safe haven.

Tin would text him that he would be home late and because he wouldn’t say why Can knew exactly why.

He wouldn’t wait for him, because Tin never wanted to talk about it right away. Sometimes he would say nothing at all.

Can woke up in the middle of the night. He saw the lights under the door so Tin was somewhere in the flat. He was relieved to know that Tin was – at least – home. The clock on his nightstand told him it was 2:48 and he had to suppress the urge to yell that Tin should come to bed already.

Instead, he followed Tin’s way through their flat in his mind. First he was in the office. It was meant for both of them but Can liked to do his work on their dining table. Spreading everything out with easy access to refreshments and food. Then he was in the living room, followed by the bathroom. Can heard the sound of water splashing. Tin had a thing with throwing cold water in his face. Can found Tin ridiculous a lot of times.

He didn’t close his eyes when Tin entered the bedroom. He just followed his movements, how he stretched himself while he undressed, he smiled when Tin huffed because Can’s clothes were laying on the floor and he picked them up. Like always.

Finally he crawled on the bed but didn’t stop until he was hovering above Can. They locked eyes even though it was dark in their bedroom, but Can could see the white parts of Tin’s. Without a word Tin stretched out on top of Can and buried his face in his neck. He breathed in and sighed as if smelling Can was the answer to all his prayers.

Can mhmed and put his arms around Tin, scratching his neck softly, burying his fingers in Tin’s hair and pulling on some strands. Tin bit him lightly in retribution and Can smiled.

His fist always itched when he thought about Tul. He wanted to punch him so badly! But Tin had said no and even though Can was known to ignore Tin’s no’s a lot of times; in this matter he respected his plea. But it was fun planning revenge on that asshole. Pete was a happy co-conspirator when they met at the gym.

Tin grew heavier on him until Can felt his even breathing on his skin. Tin had fallen asleep. Can hugged him closer and whispered promises in his ear.
