do we really have to make it — official ? Or I’m not sure I’m ready for the next step for the TinCan future prompt thing. I just really want to see Tin thinking he loves Can way more than Can loves him and then Can proving him wrong. If you wouldn’t mind indulging my highly specific prompt request? BUT ANYTHING YOU WRITE IS ALWAYS AWESOME
A.N.: Okay, I didn’t do the first prompt because your request of Tin doubting Can’s feelings for him got me real good. So, I decided to write the beginning of their relationship – like a bit after the first month of officially dating. Once again it became a bit longer than what I expected, but here it is! Also, I threw a Tincan canon book quote, so if you can spot that, you get a virtual cookie ahahah Hope you’ll enjoy it! Instead of paying attention on my portuguese poetry class, I wrote this lmao
The thing Tin hates the most about his older brother is the fact that, when he makes an effort, Tul knows exactly where to hit to make it hurt.
“Where is that Thai Program boy of yours?” Tul had asked when he noticed Tin was alone at home – a rarity since Tin had started dating Can. “Did he finally get tired of your incessant hovering? I hope you know that your desperation for love and attention can be really…unattractive,” Tul says with a venomous smirk. “Beware, little brother. He may get tired of you quicker than you expect. I mean, he had never looked particularly amorous towards you both times I had seen him.”
Tin winces at the memory of Tul’s words to him. Usually, he could walk away unscathed from his brother’s vicious spiel, but this time had been different. Tul’s words had spoken what has been on Tin’s mind for some time now.
The fact he’s sitting in the canteen with Ai Pete and his stupid boyfriend being all lovey dovey didn’t help either. Pete smiling at Ai Ae, nuzzling his cheek in thanks when he arrived with Pete’s lunch just remarked the difference between his relationship with Can and Pete’s. Ai Ae definitely loved Ai Pete, it was clear through his actions. Can, if he thinks carefully about his behavior around Tin, seems to just tolerate Tin most of time.
Yeah, Can buys food for Tin every now and then when they are out and he pushes Tin to open up, but he never calls Tin to just talk to him. He never initiates any type of intimacy between them, and still fumble whenever they kiss. Tin, at first attributed it to lack of experience, but it has been a month since they started going out and Tin is starting to question if it’s more than inexperience playing a part there. The memory of Tin handing Can the fucking phone and telling him now he had a debt with Tin instead of his mother hit him hard enough to make him stand up. It’s the sound of Pete’s voice that makes him realize he was about to bolt out of the canteen.
“Ai Tin, where are you going?” Pete asks, looking startled and a bit confused.
“Away,” Tin manages to say as he puts the strap of his bag over his shoulder. Everything feeling too much at the moment.
“What?” Pete asks. “What about Ai Can? He’ll get him any second, what do I tell him?”
Tin doesn’t say “I’m not sure he’ll actually care,” but it’s the first thing that comes to mind.
“Say,” Tin pauses and hesitates, before shrugging off. “Say whatever you want, it’s not like it matters anyway.”
He turns around and starts to walk, ignoring Pete calling his name. He needs to be alone and think. So, he walks to his car, mutes his phone and then drives away.

For @lazygeisha who won’t ask but deserves all the Soft™ fic 😘❤💞
“Cantaloupe, my love, wake up,” Tin whispers into Can’s ear. He trails kisses all around Can face in hopes of softening the harsh blow he’s giving him, knowing full well that Can holds his sleep sacred.
“I know it’s early, but you have to see this sunrise,” Tin continues when Can’s frown turns into a content smile from all the kisses.
“Nope,” Can says once the words reach his sleep-full brain. “Lemme sleep. Sleep’s good. Go away.”
“Alright, I have no choice then,” Tin says with a final kiss on Can’s nose. He bends over the bed and picks Can up, duvet and all.
“What the-”
“Hold tight,” Tin says as he carries Can bridal-style to their balcony. Can obliges, looping his arms around Tin’s neck, deciding that as long as he doesn’t have to actually walk he might as well let Tin show him his sunset.
Tin carefully sits down on their hammock, holding Can all the while, and after minimum fussing they’re both lying down, tangled together in Can’s duvet. Can’s head is resting on Tin’s chest, Tin’s hand idly tracing curly patterns on Can’s back, and alright, this isn’t so bad.
Can looks up at Tin, and from this close the early morning light is doing beautiful things to Tin’s face, bathing him in a warm glow, and maybe waking up early is worth it.
ANDWEBEGIN’S FAVOURITE TINCAN MOMENTS: Take me to your house right now. I’ll beat up your older brother. He’s a fucking piece of shit. Actually, he’s worse than a piece of shit.
“There is something between us and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever felt.” for TinCan, please? ❤️

Alright, there you go anon #9! 💕💞

“There is something between us and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever felt,” Tin says. He lays his hand on the restaurant’s table, palm up, inviting Can to lace their fingers together.
“Tin, we’ve only been on three dates, what the fuck,” Can says, looking at Tin suspiciously. Tin leaves his hand on the table, waiting.
“I don’t need more to know that we have something special, Cantaloupe,” Tin continues. He’s serious and soft, and Can feels a blush creeping up his cheeks.
Tin doesn’t insist, he just lets Can breathe and take this in, and Can likes that about him, likes that he’s unafraid to tell Can exactly what he feels while not pushing Can for an immediate answer.
Can plays around with the shrimps in his plate, unwrapping them carefully to avoid looking at Tin’s quiet and fond smile. Tin is eating one-handed, his other hand still offered up near their glasses. Waiting. Hoping. Can eyes it as he eats, averting his gaze when he feels Tin looking.
They finish their plates too soon for Can’s liking, because now he doesn’t have an excuse to be quiet. Not that eating would normally male him talk less, but still.
The waitress comes by their table and gives Tin’s outstreched hand a pitying look, and Tin starts retreating his hand, looking small and vulnerable all of a sudden, and Can can’t have that. He nearly sends their glasses flying, surging forward to grab Tin’s hand before it’s too late.
Tin looks at their linked hands, and it’s like he’s lightning up from withinh, and Can fears he’s gonna get blinded by Tin’s smile if he stares too long.
“We’ll have the biggest ice-cream you can make,” Can tells the waitress. “To share,” he adds, and somehow Tin gets what Can means by that and squeezes his hand.
Please do Tincan:“Did I ever really matter to you?”(P.S. love your writing)

Can glares at Tin as soon as he opens the door, Gucci happily wagging his tail at Tin’s feet.
“Traitor,” Can tells his dog as he enters his mother’s house. He gives Tin’s cheek a quick peck in passing, the habit so ingrained he can’t shake it off.
“I still can’t believe Ma asked you to look for Gucci first. She overlooked her own son. Does she love you more than me? Are you replacing me in her heart?” Can monologues as he plumps himself face-first on the couch. Tin’s quiet chuckle only encourages him.
“You’re not off the hook either, Ai’Tin! Did I ever really matter to you, or was I just a convenient way to get into my mother’s heart? And into my dog’s heart! Don’t even mention my sister’s.”
“Mmh, and what about your heart?” Tin asks, sitting down close to Can.
“Ah, I guess you’re already in there somewhere,” Can fake-grumbles.
“Good, that was my evil plan all along,” Tin says. “Your dog was just a bonus.”

Can has been uncharacteristically quiet all evening. He’s avoiding looking at Tin, he’s sighing quietly every five minutes, and he hasn’t moved from his nest of blankets in the last half hour.
When Can sighs for the tenth time is as many minutes, Tin forgoes his decision to let Can come to him when he’s ready and goes to sit by his side.
“Out with it,” Tin says, prodding Can in the ribs when the other boy doesn’t answer. Can stays resolutely silent.
“Cantaloupe,” Tin coos, changing tactics. He strokes Can’s hair gently, soothingly. “What is it?”
“I don’t want to tell you,” Can pouts. “You’re going to be so smug, I can tell.”
Tin huffs a laugh. “Cantaloupe, please. I don’t like seeing you like this.”
Tin cups Can’s chin with his hand, turning his face gently to make him look at him.
“Tell me,” Tin asks.
Can sighs and avoids his eyes, lips pursed in an adorable pout. Tin wants to tackle him into a bear-like hug and never let him go.
“I didn’t mean to love you so much,” Can finally whispers, and Tin’s heart does something funny in his chest, like it wants to beat out of his ribcage or something.
“Oh, Can, I-”
“And the thing is, at first I told myself I could let you date me and once you saw that I don’t deserve to be with you it’ll all go back to normal, but now I’ve gone and fallen in love with you and when you’re going to grow bored of me and leave me it’s going to hurt so much and it sucks,” Can says, all in one breath and still not meeting Tin’s stunned stare.
“Silly boy,” Tin says, affection filling his voice. “How could I ever grow bored of you? You surprise me every day.”
Can shrugs, carefully looking at the wall again.
“Cantaloupe, look at me,” Tin demands. He waits until Can meets his eyes before speaking again.
“I love you. Do you believe me?”
Can searches his face for a few seconds, taking in Tin’s open expression and finally nods, wide-eyed.
“Good. I’m going to kiss you now, alright? Because I’m in love with you too.”
